“Home” is an investigation, and dissection of my childhood home as well as childlike tendencies. Yearning for a physical connection as well as a newfound emotional connection with the land I grew up with, I returned to childhood memories of searching and gathering objects from the woods behind my house. The photographs exhibited are a culmination of returning to my roots, and rediscovering the objects that I once gathered, or passed by eleven years earlier. Each was shot uniformly in order to memorialize and make the nostalgic tangible. By isolating the object within the frame, I was able turn the emotional yearning for a connection to my childhood into a physical one. These objects are a representation of my past; a gesture of my idea of home. It is through these images that I begin to determine what I turned to in order to shape my definition of home, in hopes of picking up the pieces, and rebuilding my own.
